Question about a Government job

Title: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (COMPUTER OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR)

Does this sound like a NOC position or Deskside support? My buddy applied and who used to work for the Gment for just over 4 years. I honestly have no idea what this job entails. It's a GS 11 that's all I know.

GS 11 - I don't think it will be help desk, but you may manage all of the Desktop Support people. Usually the ones that say (Customer Support) are the help desk jobs.

Is it on USAJobs.gov? It should tell what the job entails. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

a lot of those jobs are vendor management. You will actually have to get a interview with the agency to find out. The reality is they cant' afford a lot of IT salaries and they use the govt staff to manage the contracting agencies who supply the talent.

You'd be surprised. I know of afew GS-11 help desk positions down here..
