L2 or layer 3

Hello all just wanted your opinion on connecting a new switch up to the core L3 switch,
Would it be best to enable ip routing or do layer 2 and trunk the link?

m3zilla Member Posts: 172So is this your distribution switch or are you just daisy chaining switches? i dont like to extnd my vlans to the core so I usually route between the distribution and core.

shodown Member Posts: 2,271I prefer to route disto to the core as well. I had one client that had its vlans spread across campus and whenever they had blip in the network it would take spanning tree 30 mins to figure itself out.Currently Reading
