GNS3 doesn't have anything like an 'idlepc' value for ASA's. The instructions I've found when googling on how to get the ASA images working always include a link to a CPU limiter application you run and attach to the process gns3 spawns for the ASA.

Here ya go - scroll down to the CPU Usage section. It has instructions on how to limit for both windows and linux.

Thanks bermovick I started using BES last night, I see today that BES seems to do a good job.

Since I don't bother keeping up with all the acronyms in IT, what does BES stand for? Last time I looked it up, it stood for Blackberry Enterprise System, which I am quite sure has nothing to do with Cisco.

on win 7, make sure you run BES as an administrator. Otherwise, it won't be able to act on the processes.
