I plan to take my Security+ within the next 3-4 months and am currently stocking up on reads for holiday season. I have Darrli's book (which is awesome) but I am looking for another book just for cross reference and possibly other ways of explaining topics. Any suggestions? Cheap price preferred.

CompTIA Security + All-in-One Exam Guide (Exam SY0-301), 3rd Edition with CD-ROM: Wm. Arthur Conklin, Gregory White, Dwayne Williams, Roger Davis, Chuck Cothren: 9780071771474: Amazon.com: Books
It is not as easy to read, not quite as well-written, and is not as well organized as Darril's book, but it goes much more in depth in certain areas. Topics the Conklin, White book cover in greater depth include: IPSec, legal issues, privacy, & ethics, PKI, cryptography, web components. I've enjoyed both books for different reasons. Darril's book is the best book to read first because it is quick and makes the subject seem easy (and it is very well-written). Conklin, White provides greater depth and coverage in most areas. I found about an equal amount of errors in both books. If you like my comments or questions, you can show appreciation by clicking on the reputation badge/star icon near the lower left of my post.
