in Security+
Hello all,
Took Security+ today and failed.
Some of the questions caught me out. Oh well, no point in upsetting myself about it.
I'll pick myself up and nail it on the 19th August as that's the next day available to me from the test center.
My exam report and I will be seeing alot of each other i think for the next 4 weeks.
Regards
Eamonn

Chivalry1 Member Posts: 569I did not like the exam cram book for Security +. I would recommend you pick up a copy of the All-In-1 Security + Book. They have excellent diagrams and information covered."The recipe for perpetual ignorance is: be satisfied with your opinions and

ninjaz Member Posts: 11 ■□□□□□□□□□I have taken it twice so far and failed it both times. First time I took it I got a 716 and then this last time I got a 746 (talk about a kick in the nuts!). Now I have to wait 30 days which sucks. Good luck on the next attempt.

Now I have changed my opinion... -
lordy Member Posts: 632 ■■■■□□□□□□It definitely isn't. I thought so too, but luckily I realized this before taking it.
I guess, Security+ is the most underestimated exam around.Working on CCNP: [X] SWITCH --- [ ] ROUTE --- [ ] TSHOOT

Just as a matter of interest I would love to know the fail % of this exam. Occasionally I hear of someone missing one of the other Comptia exams, but for this one it is common to hear that a person has failed 1st time around.www.supercross.com

Chivalry1 Member Posts: 569This exam is not a easy one!1 I think many walk in the exam with a comptia frame of mind, assuming the test will be easy. With Security + this is not the case. Be prepared to be challanged."The recipe for perpetual ignorance is: be satisfied with your opinions and

Kittyfresita Member Posts: 9 ■□□□□□□□□□I underestimated Security+ the first time I took it and I failed just for 20 pts. By that time I only used the Exam Cram book. Then I bought the syngress book and I used some practice exams, including the ones from this site. I also used the tech notes published here. I found the Syngress book to cover in more detail the different exam objectives, although for the wireless topics the tech notes from here helped me a lot.
Be sure to know: PKI, digital certificates, honey pots, forensics, organizational security, attacks, IPSec, RBAC, DAC, MAC, wireless
security and the ports.
I took the exam again a week ago and I nailed it wirh a score of 852.
Good luck!MCP, A+,Network+, MCSA, Security+, ITIL Foundations
