Desk Support while getting ICND1?

Just wondering if anyone sought out a help desk job while they were working on their icnd1/2. I am working on ccent and am considering looking for a help desk job. Let me know your thoughts!

Funny you mentioned that. Not 10 mins after you posted that..my father stopped by and handed me information for a help support tech position at my moms work.

It will give you more opportunities to gain experience than telling people how to reboot their cable modems
You can also be involved in light networking tasks as well. Three years ago I didn't even know what a domain controller was, or what was the difference between a switch and a router. My work experience as a self-employed desktop technician taught me a lot.

I did that exact thing by accident. I did not seek that situation. I worked at the IT service desk for one of the large home improvement companies.
Pros - can network with people to maybe get a job in another department, can gain soft and technical skills while at work
Cons - have less time to study, may hate working in a call center
I used to bring my CCNA books and study during my lunch break.
