780 + 785 or 786? Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!

Im currently working as a Level 1/2 HelpDesk Assistant (no formal qualifications). ive decided to stick to this career path after a few too many years doing all sorts.

im looking to start studying and qualify as a Desktop Administrator mainly for the money but also just in case i ever want to leave the company i work for at the moment.

the problem is i've only got until june 2013 when Microsoft retires the windows 7 certifications. my question is, is it possible or easier to study for say the 785 or 786 and be able to pass the 780 exam?

thanks

look forward to hearing from you guys

Those certifications are retiring but there will be a designation in its place called MCSA:WIndows 7
Note Until January 31, 2014, when you earn your MCSA: Windows 7 certification you will also earn your Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): Windows 7, Configuration and either your MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator (exams 680 and 686) or MCTIP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician (exams 680 and 685).
