is this correct:

802.11a - 23 non-overlapping channels, max rate is 54mbps
802.11b - 3 non-overlapping channels, max rate 11 mbps
802.11g - 3 non-overlapping channels, max rate 54mbps
802.11n - varies, max rate 540mbps

are there overlapping channels for each aswell? if so, how many?

i come across a question on the web, where is asks what is the wireless standard that has 14 channels and haven't come across this in my studies?

Actually 14 overlapping channels are released by FCC at 2.4 GHz, but only 11 of them are available in the US.
