Router Loses Configuration

I have a Cisco 2610 router that I am attempting to load a configuration file on and it will not keep the configuration after the router is rebooted. It will do the same thing on a manual configuration. Any suggestions?

Thanks but I am not attempting to configure the Register. Just want, for example, for the router to keep the IP Address that I assign to Ethernet and Serial Ports and it will not. As in Configure Terminal.

Darkuser.....I apologize, I spoke to soon. Your link helped me. Turns out router is set to ignore the configuration. Thanks for the direction.
