Hi Guys,
I am in Canada so I am not familiar with US universities.
Before I came to Canada, I really hoped to enter famous university in US like Harvard, Yale, etc. But then the tuition was just too much.
Now I came accross this Harvard University Extension School and I am very interested in their Certificate in Aplied Science which is mainly Computer Science and IT stuff. But you only need to take 8 courses and the fees are not too bad (compared to the full degree)
I already have a Computer Science degree in University of Waterloo here in Canada (if anyone knows about it). And also now working towards a Masters of Management Science here too.
I am really interested in the Harvard Certification as getting into Harvard is really one of my dreams. But I have heard bad things about this Extension School, so I am not sure.
Any advice would be great!
Here's a link for those who are interested

Philip

jaeusm Member Posts: 42 ■■■□□□□□□□The top US school in engineering and applied science (computer science included here) is MIT. Also, Carnegie Mellon, Stanford, UC Berkley, and Illinois are highly regarded in this area. I know that Illinois offers a master's degree in computer science online.
For what it's worth, here's a link to the "Top Graduate Engineering Schools" as compiled by USNews.com.
I haven't heard anything about the Harvard Extension. -

Thanks for all the advice.
It seems Harvard Extension School has got mixed review.
I'll have to do more reseach and understand more about how these distance learning programs works.
Has any one had any experience with Distance learning programs. Are they any good?
Thanks

Seriously, check it out before you judge. Just type in Harvard in the search engine to see the stories of many students who are in the middle of the program as we speak that post on there. This makes it the best place for him to learn about the harvard extension school.CISSP, CCNA SP

DarklyWise Member Posts: 75 ■■□□□□□□□□Degreeinfo.com is a fantastic website - not to mention that some of the posters are authorities on the subject matter ( ie. Dr. Bear who wrote the book on Distance Learning.. ).
Now about the Harvard Extension School - it may not be worth the money since the Extension does not garner the same prestige factor that Harvard B&M does...
If you're simply looking for prestige, I'd check out http://www.Degreeinfo.com and put up a post!A being Darkly Wise and Rudely Great -
