goldenlightgoldenlight Member Posts: 378 ■■□□□□□□□□
I currently have no certification or IT experience. I did minor in Information TEchnology while earning my last degree 3 yrs ago. IS a A+ Certification Worth Getting any more? I know much about computer and how to solve a problem if I come across one. I even built my own computer.

I'm currently heading down the Network Path. Should have my CCNa by Febuary of 2013

My opinion is A+ is worthwhile and a good entry point to show you grok IT. The information is a mile wide and about an inch deep so you have to be familiar with a broad range of items. While not necessary and will not get you a job on its own merits, it will not detract from getting a job by having it.

A+ & OS Cert will help you get a helpdesk job. (So like A+ & Win 7) as it helps with hardware and software at that point and could go from there to Cisco. Honestly to me doesn't look bad for Networking either only because you still have to do things like RAM upgrade on Cisco equipment as well.

    Current Certification Exam: ???
Future Certifications: CCNP Route Switch, CCNA Datacenter, random vendor training.
