Claymoore Member Posts: 1,637I use an earlier model of the Big Shot backpack from the Norh Face. I want a backpack with a load-bearing waist belt so all that weight isn't digging into my shoulders while I trek around the airport. It looks like the belt on the new model is more for decoration.

I use a Deuter Speed lite 15 as my man-purse. My tablets fit just fine in the hydration pocket, which uses the same water bladder as the kid carrier I bought to hike my son up Diamondhead and another waterfall trail in Hawaii. For shorter or cooler trips to Disney, I have used this instead of my larger CamelBak daypack. The hydration pocket may be too small for a 13" laptop, but it should fit in the main compartment with room to spare.

mattlee09 Member Posts: 205I have a backpack we got from Novell at some point that seems pretty similar in size and quality to the Monoprice one above. Has rollers also.
I've never been much concerned about the size. I usually buy a sleeve of some sort for my devices, and it goes in the bag.
For instance, my Macbook case (Amazon).
I'm thinking my next bag will be a Kitchen Sink (Amazon). I hate not having my gear on me. -

Carries my 13.3" Asus Zenbook, Nexus 7, couple file folders and a notebook and a few pens along with cable necessities like my power cord, USB/Serial adapter and so on in a fairly slim package with a bit of room to spare. -

I used to carry an Oakley convertible messenger bag/laptop bag that included a load-bearing belt. That thing was indestructible, but a 15" widescreen wouldn't fit in the laptop compartment and eventually I bought a laptop with a larger keyboard and bezel that wouldn't fit in the bag at all.
Off topic, but one year they were threatening to ban coolers from the Gasparilla parade route here in Tampa. I pulled the laptop padding out of the inside of my Oakley bag and put in one of those reflective foil freezer bags from the grocery store. Toss in a few frozen bottles of water and a 12 pack of beer, and I had a wearable cooler that I could carry for the parade and the after parties. I was also wearing a survival Utilikilt that claims a maximum capacity of 20 beverage bottles. I didn't carry that many, but I did not go thirsty that day. -

Not a bad looking bag. Problem for me is that size bag brings this to mind, and I just can't pull it off:

,most all are shoulder strap bags, 3 black leather, one with extra thich strap for scary airports, one brown leather coach bag, and a hella bullish beast of a NorthFace shoulder strap bag(it caries almost the whole world inside it, and it's waterproof). I have a 2 wheel backpack, with teliscoping handle. This one make me feel the need for a new one, Visconti Brown Leather Laptop Briefcase Messenger Bag 18516 | Leather messenger bags haha, about bags I am as bad as a girl and her shoes. -
