Hi Guys,

Pretty much the thread title. Do i do the 70-647 & 70-649 exams? Or skip both and start afresh with s2k12?

I read that after i have done those 2 exams to get the MCITP:EA, i'd have another 3 to do to get the Server MCSE 2012 status..

Anybody have any resources on exam paths worth knowing about? preferably in English! lol

I am going to upgrade to 2012 and go from there myself. I see no point in putting more effort in 2008 when the certs will expire in a few years and would rather keep going forward.

Okay, so this is what i have read:

    I can either do: 70-410, 11, 12, 13 & 14 (For server) and / or 70-415 & 16 (For Desktop)

    or

    70-647 & 70-649 to server 2008, then 70-417, 70-413, and 70-414. (For server) and / or 70-415 & 16 (For Desktop)

So either way, there are at least 5 exams..

    Thoughts?

Please do the 2008 series first for 3 reasons
    1. you become more knowleadgeable
    2. your CV looks much better.
3 It costs the same yet you know more besides it takes companies long to Move their Server ot new OS'.

One thing that is not clear to me based on getting the MICTP:EA is I have not seen them specifically state you can upgrade your EA using 70-417 as that is to upgrade your MCSA Server 2008 (MCITP:SA as well until July) to MCSA Server 2012. So that would mean you may still need your 70-646 before you can do 40-17 to complete your MCSA 08/12 and MCITP:SA before you can do your MCSE.

Why is there not a simple webpage from MS stating all the choices and paths? :O

Getting MCITP:EA grants you the MCSA:2012 by default. so from what i read, that plus the 70-417 + the other 2 exams make the MCSE:2012
