Why is EIGRP fastest converging? Especially compared with OSPF.

OSPF is also triggering update. So, what could be factor that makes OSPF particularly slower than EIGRP when converging?

Feasible successors can be used immediately in EIGRP unlike OSPF which calculates and floods when there is an issue. EIGRP does not have to ensure everyone has the same picture of the network (LSDB within an area) unlike OSPF which allows it have this shortcut built right in.

Good point. But in EIGRP is it possible a broken link causes certain FS recalculated, and thus chained reactions hammering the whole network?

Sure, if you lose a succesor and FS you have to query for the route. There is a well known sate where things can get fudged up called Stuck In Active or just SIA. Read up on it if interested.

Because it is Cisco proprietary and must converge faster because it will be on a Cisco router.

if i do not remember wrong, DR/BDR router sends out(advertises) routing information(LSA) to all others resulting slower convergence compared to EIGRP.
