Vcp5-dv

To anyone that has this cert, does the actual paper certificate have VCP5-DV, or does it just have VCP? I called VMware because I have my VCP5, and I wanted to know if I could get the new certificate, the rep said that the actual certificates don't have Datacenter Virtualization on them, I just want to know if that's true.

I'm a stickler for this, I meant to have the title as VCP5-DV, with the correct case...well, I was a stickler for it. icon_sad.gif

Yeah, mine just says VCP. But that maybe because I got it before they changed the names. Perhaps the new ones will have VCP-DV on them. When did you pass yours?

I can tell you in a few weeks, cleared on Nov 29th waiting to get the certificate. Heard it takes a month :)

Congratulations on passing, and getting a copy of Workstation 9. If the new certs have VCP5-DV, I was told that I could receive a new certificate with the new title, the VMware rep told me that the certs still say VCP, but I want to be sure.

If you haven't had your Workstation licence yet that suggests as though your VCP status has yet to be confirmed. The first thing that happens once you've passed the exam is your training status is verified and an email is sent to you - that email will prompt you to login to VMware.com and run through a "task" on their system. Once that's done, your certfifcation appears on your transcript, you'll get your Workstation licence, and they'll start the process of producing and sending your certificate.

Check your email accounts for that initial email, contact certification@vmware.com if necessary.

Thanks Scott, I have completed the task that appeared so I believe my Certificate is on its way (the Certification does appear on my Transcript) how exactly do I check for the Workstation License?

It will be emailed to you, that should happen pretty quickly after your transcript shows your certification.
