CCENT Tomorrow Morning - Last Minute Tips?

staticzstaticz Member Posts: 54 ■■□□□□□□□□
My CCENT exam is scheduled for tomorrow and I'm not feeling overly confident. Work has been absolutely ridiculous (data center move) so I haven't gotten to study as much as I would've liked. I've read Odom's book front to back and bought the Boson Exams. On those practice tests I score between 70-80% so I think I'm close.

However the Pearson exam is tougher than hell for me. Any last minute tips on what to cram for :)

Just relax! At this point you either know it or you don't. Good luck!

Make sure you rest... first priority.

Also, when answering on the test tomorrow I would read each answer for the multiple choice questions from bottom to top in order to help reduce quick answers... sometimes the obvious answer is not always the CORRECT answer.

Good luck. Can't wait to see you on the other side lol.

Thanks for the hints guys. Hopefully I can make it happen, if not you'll see the angry version of me tomorrow!

I just need to make sure I read every question thoroughly and take my time. Is 90 minutes excessive or did you guys find yourself rushing at the end?

My advice: just relax. If you've read the books, done the labs and know your stuff you'll be fine. I always feel that if I've put the work in I'll be able to do well, which really helps with the pre-exam nerves.

I won't wish you good luck....if you've done the work you don't need luck, just do your best!

I'd rather be lucky instead of skilled :)

But for me: if it wasn't bad lucky, I wouldn't have any icon_sad.gif

You guys will appreciate this, since we are all IT folks.

I took today off in hopes of either enjoying my passing grade or seething over my defeat. Unfortunately that wasn't in the cards as I got called at 4:00am on an emergency situation! With my test scheduled for 10 I was initially pretty upset.

To make a long story short we got the situation resolved (three locations down) and I made it to the testing facility with 10 minutes to spare. I then proceeded to smack that exam around like a rag doll and passed!

Do all of the exams say the results are subject to review? When will I know if I actually passed?

Grats on the pass, have to love passing through the adversity.

Cisco certs all go for review to my knowledge. I've never heard of one being reversed though. Should know within 5 business days or so.

You will get an e-mail asking you to log in and verify your name/address etc to make sure they get everything right on your cert. They will also ask if you want a hard copy mailed, or if you want a pdf e-mailed. You can get both, but only 1(your choice) is free.

Congrats. That is sooo like the IT world. Had to be some superhuman focus there. Good thing your preparation was strong enough to work through being restless. It just goes to show, if you know the material, YOU KNOW THE MATERIAL!

True, but I did do a bit of last minute cramming last night.

After this morning I'm in the worrying mood, I really wish I would get the all clear - sounds like Cisco to make you wait five days. With Christmas it could be even longer icon_sad.gif.

After working with Cisco everyday for the past year (my job) I found the test to be pretty straight forward with the exception of WAN questions which I knew I'd struggle with. The subnetting thread on here made those questions a breeze, can't thank everyone who posts here enough for all of their tips.

Might be too late to help but be sure to review your show commands. Also, pace yourself. Divide your time evenly between all the questions and consider every choice, even the ones you think are wrong, carefully

Sorry, didn't see your post that said you passed. Congrats. Take your time studying for the ICND2.

For more reference Staticz, I passed my ICND2 on Tuesday at Noon est. Received the "good to go" email from Cisco Friday at 6pm est. Like I said, it's more just standard procedure, and nothing to really worry about.

What book did you use the offical CCENT guide or the sybex one?

Got my 'official' email this morning! Thanks for all the encouragement everyone!

I used Odom's cert bundle - CCNA 640-802 Official Cert Library, Updated (3rd Edition): Wendell Odom: 9781587204388: Amazon.com: Books

I skipped all of the subnetting chapters and used this instead - http://www.techexams.net/forums/ccna-ccent/38772-subnetting-made-easy.html

I cannot recommend that thread enough. I literally had subnetting down in about 2 hours using his method. Aside from that I bought the Boson practice tests for some realistic testing.
