Finally started..how to knock this out?

Ok i got my transfer credits fixed and transferred a little less than I was hoping but that's OK. Which classes are the fastest and easiest to complete. thanks guys This is what i transferred in:

Well so I can get those out of the way and focus on the more challenging ones. But I am not sure if they are in some order to build up to the next, but just want to know the best way to take these and best study materials everyone has used for them so I can get started.

They are in some kind of order but it's not always the most efficient use of one's money or time to take them in the order WGU provides, or at the rate they recommend. Smart planning combined with WGU's competency-based approach means one can often fit way more into a term than WGU recommends. Since students pay a flat rate per term, it's often better to reorganize courses in a way that allows you to finish your degree faster, spending less $ per CU.

Work with your mentor to formulate a strategy on how you'll tackle the course load. You don't want to end up taking all the easy credits early, only to have 3 - 5 difficult courses that you may or may not be able to complete in a single term. Good luck.

Yes that is true. Which ones are the easiest though, that way I can kind of plan them accordingly. And where do you get all the study material from I guess I plan on studying for WFV1 since it is first on my list, but online cant really seem to find some good study material.

I am not expert in topic as I myself have to start yet but I asked same question couple of days ago and got a replies from other members, here is one of them;

@geekoncall - Yes - you should be able to do all that in 1 term. The ones that I found most straightforward from that list were: BNC1, IWC1 and I hear LAE1 and IWT1 are not too difficult, so you could start from these to get some motivation.

Although we are on different programs, but I see you have almost same course requirements, so just see if that helps. I was also reading somewhere that although your Mentor will help you to chose which one first, but you are free to select just in case if you want to try first this or that etc.

I am fully agreed with above member said, but I would say just to get motivated and see how WGU system works for you, chose couple of easy one along a tough ( maybe certification etc, not sure).

Easiest is a subjective term. I suggest taking a closer look at your syllabus and comparing the interesting classes with some of your strengths/weaknesses. Have you talked with your mentor yet about "unlocking" a few classes? Once he does that, you should be able to view all of the study material.

I would try to group the courses that complement each other. For example, do the Web Development Fundamentals with the Web Technologies course. Do the math together. Do the security courses together, etc.

The AIV1, BHV1, and BIV1 are likely to be more difficult. I'd save those for later, along with some easier courses like the BNC1 or IWT1. If you are on financial aid, having those "easy" courses will allow you to maintain satisfactory progress, while not taking too much time. BNC1 and IWT1 can be done in a couple of weeks, for example.

Your mentor will likely want your first few courses to be the WFV1, CLC1, and maybe LUT1. Do those well and you'll have more leeway to work on what you want to. Some mentors may want to just move down the list, but remember it's your education and time. Be firm, if necessary.

I am enrolling with WGU, with a Feb. 1 start date...and haven't done my orientation yet. While I can log into my.wgu.edu, I cannot access any course material...but with the links you provided in your first post I can log in and start on my classes really really early!!!

Sorry I don't have an answer for your question though.

Ok so I am just starting this to get started WFV1 I have already studied CIW and am pretty much ready to take the test(ive been preparing since last month) but am a little lost on how I can get the exam scheduled. I think i am taking the pre assessment but it says its 289 questions. Thats a lot of questions for the pre assessment or is that how many questions are really on there.

Are they using uCertify? That sounds more like the entire pool.

@pixa241 - Under the "My Degree Plan" tab you'll find the "Assessment Status" column in "Course Details" - clicking on whatever is there for the course of choice, say WFV1, should result in a request being sent to your mentor. After he or she approves it, then you click "Schedule" and they should send you a voucher by e-mail. As far as i recall, WFV1, or any other vendor exam for that matter, does not have a formal pre-assessment. What you may be referring to could be the Learning Resources. Your mentor, however, may or may not require that you pass some of the tests in the Learning Resources before releasing the voucher.
