70-417 before MCITP-SA/EA completion

Hello everyone,

For the first time ever I will be skipping ahead, mostly due to my study path I chose a few months ago. I am taking my 70-417 today and I have yet to finish either 646 or 647.

I currently hold, MCSA 2003. I took the 648 upgrade and passed it, then 643 and 680. So, I only need 646 or 647 to benefit from the MCITP or MCSA/E 2008.

According to MS website, I will be credited for passing the exam today, but not with the MCSA 2012 title. So, after passing this exam I will take my 646 or 647 and hopefully get credit for both 2k8 and 2012 at the same time.

Oops, forgot to ask. Has anyone done this before? If so, what were the results on your transcript?

There is no problem with this just as you said your transcript will only show the exam pass but will only show the 2012 cert after completion of the MCSA 2008.

It was a great read and helpful in my opinion. Slowhand: I apologize for the NDA violation. I'll make sure not to do that again.
