My CCNA is due to expire this year, so have started on my security to get it renewed so to speak, I have all the manuals and nuggets and have been going through them, now realise I need CCP (Cisco Configuration Professional) installed as someone said this is vital to the exam,

Where can I get this please? I have searched everywhere.. any help is appreciated

Download version 2.6 of Cisco Configuration Professional using your CCO credentials. Download page at Cisco Systems

Nothing needs to be added to the routers flash. Just install it on your PC and connect it to router on GNS3. Once you start reading the book it will be clear.

As mallyg27 says - you just install it on your computer.

All you need to do is configure the router for HTTP/S access, have a username, and set authentication for http to local database.

Concerning GNS3, how do you guys get the IOS onto your computer? Do I need to buy a router or is there like a website where I can download/buy some IOS? I've been using Packet Tracer and just wanted to give GNS3 a try since it's a bit more realistic. I know it would be better working with real equipment but for now just doing the CCNA Security, I'd be good with GNS3.

Quick question: Why don't you take another Cisco exam instead of the one you're already certified in? All your previous Cisco exams are re-certified if you take another exam of equal or greater level of the other certifications you have. It might be a good time to get one of the CCNP R&S or Security exams, CCNA Voice, or even the CCNA Wireless which would add to your certifications list instead of restudying things you've already passed in the past.

I think that's what he's doing - his CCNA is going to expire so he's looking into doing his CCNA Security

And this is what I get for cruising the forums too early in the morning. LoL. I'm birdbrained this week. Too many long nights and not enough recovery time. This is the second post I messed up today because I didn't read it thoroughly enough.

One thing I wonder is does anyone using ccp in a live setting. I tried it at work and thought it was ok but after setting up an asa's at work I realized ccp is pretty terrible.

@OP After you know your way around ccp I highly recommend you try to set up an asa on gns3 or buy one. Once you get familiar on how it works configure it at your home network and practice setting up vpns, policies, etc. Working with Asa's will trump ccp knowledge any day and look better on the resume.

    My 2 cents

That's what I was thinking - CCP is old stuff these days and I don't know anyone who uses it.
