Resume Help

Hello Everyone,

I am looking to break into the networking field, and am currently going to school for my Bachelors in IT Management. Right now i am looking for a part time job while finishing up my degree so i can gain some work experience. I have no actual IT experience at all, so i am having difficulty building a resume. Here is what i have so far, and i was wondering if you guys could give me some pointers on what i could do to make it more appealing.

Hello there, Smith.

So here are my recommendations:
- I'm not a fan of the layout with the education and key skills on the side. It doesn't help your education and certifications stand out. Quite the opposite in fact.
- I think the summary should be trimmed down or removed completely.
- To avoid confusion, list education like this: BA - IT Tech Management - 2012 (or whatever year you started) - Current /or/ 2012 - 2014 (expected graduation date)
- Remove the dates from the certifications.
- Remove "Available for Part-Time and blah blah blah" - real estate is important on your resume
- I would even recommend taking off the job experience you have as it's not relevant to your IT experience. If you've completed any volunteer IT work, internships, etc, list it there. If you haven't and you're itching for experience, apply to every internship out there, ask your college to let you volunteer in the school lab, teach a class of older folks how to use a computer, advertise contract jobs on Craigslist, etc. Then stick it all on your resume as volunteer, self-employed, internship, or whatever it is that you end up doing and then include a description with bulletpoints on what tasks you performed.
- Remove key skills. Redundant of skill set.
