I'm completely lost

Maybe this isn't for me, I really don't know where to begin besides filling applications which I kinda feel isn't really helpful I don't know what really to do at this point.

All I'm doing is applying on career-builder and monster and reading for a hour a night...

I don't know what else to try to do and it doesn't seem like a good situation to be in.

You should expand your job hunt to beyond just career-builder and monster... I've never had job luck with those sites (Maybe others have). Heck, I found my current gig which is really great on CraigsList! Look up companies in the phone book and see if they need an IT resource.

If all your looking for jobs on is career builder and monster, your missing out on some opportunities right there. I have Dice, Career Builder, Monster and Indeed. I constantly check job postings 2-3 times per week and take any recruiter call i can. I am active on my linkedin as well, every recruiter that seems positive and okay to work with i add as a contact.

I highly recommend you also check out your city and county sites for any job postings. I just applied to any IT position in three counties and several cities. These can take up to 3-4 months before they close down recruiting for a position and then start testing candidates. You may have to wait six months or longer.

Since you in south florida, check out the cruise lines as well. You may not think it but there is IT staff on each boat and your right near one of the biggest hubs for cruise lines in the country.

I have passed up several bad offers, more not so great offers and been rejected by several good to great offers for one reason or another. That doesnt stop me from applying and waiting for the next great offer to come my way.

I found my current job in a Bank on craigslist as well!
