I have an initial phone screen for the position listed below. Most of my experience has been in help desk/desktop support, but for the last 3 years I have managed teams(help desk, software support). Can anyone give a heads up on what I should be prepared for? I have experience in server OS and such acting as the internal IT person for the software company I work for.
Installs and maintains local area network hardware and software. Adds new users to the network and specifies their directory structures and system access, troubleshoots network usage and peripheral issues, supports the helpdesk and other helpdesk analysts, resolves LAN connectivity issues and maintains LAN and internet connections. Requires expertise with MS-Windows Server 2008, 2003, WIN7, and XP.
Analyzes business needs and designs, installs and supports network solutions on one or multiple platforms in a LAN or WAN architecture. Utilizes expertise in creating network and enterprise-wide solutions and generally focuses on server and workstation-based environments. Responsible for evaluating network architecture and hardware/software configurations for security vulnerabilities.

- Provide high availability on systems by providing seamless data access and maximum uptime.
- Maintain the integrity and security of data, servers, devices, and software to support the database server, application servers, and storage systems.
- Assists the Manager of Infrastructure with maintaining and updating the firm’s disaster recovery plans for all mission critical infrastructures.
- Mobile Device Management Experience with iDevices.
- Maintains/Troubleshoots Remote Access Systems: (Juniper VPN, Xen Server Farms, etc.)
- Supports/Maintains Phone System: (Cisco Call Manager, Unity, and Presence).
- Manages Corporate Cell Phone program, approx. 230 Cell Phones: (Orders, Warranty Repairs, Trouble Shooting, Training, Account Analysis, etc.)
- Implementation Specialist: In charge of testing, tuning, deploying, and supporting new security applications/specialized applications.
- Negotiates Pricing on Firm Hardware/Software: (Works with Vendors to negotiate best possible deal for firm.)
- Security Administrator: Manages over 300 Machines making sure all are protected with Endpoint Encryption, Anti-Virus, Anit-Spam, Anit-Spyware, etc. Makes sure all machines are receiving updates and are within specified compliance.
- Manages/Maintains Domain Policies, DNS, DHCP and other integrated systems: Insures DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, etc are all functioning as designed.
- Analyses Business Needs: Determines if what is asked for is actually what is needed, practical and should be practiced.
- Supports Maintains Virtual Infrastructure: Insures Virtual Infrastructure is performing as expected. Performs physical to virtual conversions to reduce overhead on physical machines.
- Performs other Responsibilities as asked

Essential Functions:
- Works with Accounting Applications Group/Web Applications to assist with Software Updates/Upgrades/Implementations.
- Builds, updates, deploys computer images using Microsoft MDT, SCCM, etc.
- Level 2 and 3 support for non-accounting applications.
- Restores firm data after lose or corrupt from backup.
- Makes system changes as required to insure the functionality of firm software is not lost/degraded.
- Deploys updates to Workstations/Servers: (Makes sure Infrastructure is up to date with Critical Updates, Security Updates, Service Packs, etc.)
- Maintains Phone Systems: (Digital, VOIP, Cell Phones.)
- Recommends/Implements new hardware: (Workstations, Cell Phones, Multi-Function devices, etc.)
- Performs other functions as asked.

- 3 – 5 years of Network Engineer and Network Administration Experience.
- A+ certification desired
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
- Must have a high level of self-motivation coupled with a strong work ethic.
- Strong analytical abilities to solve technical problems.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate with all levels within the company.
- The ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
- Periodic weekend and after hours support is mandatory, especially during the timeframe of January through April 15th each year.
- Outside client support, as needed
- Work may require extended or unscheduled hours.
- Excellent communication skills.
