Starting on the Server track

I have been in desktop support for the past 6-7 years. My boss has now stated that he would like me to start getting into some server based stuff. I am not sure which track I should start on, I have seen starting with the MTA Networking fundamentals is a good start as well as the Net+ version of it. I am looking for some advice from the long term server cert holders on how I should start my journey.

Thanks,

I would go for the MTA: server and get the Server+ certifications. This will give you a foundation to understanding server concepts.

The MTAs are a waste of time/money. There is almost no recognition for it.
    Start with the 70-410.

You've been in the game for several years, I agree with MrAgent about starting on the 410. The MTAs' are a waste of money for someone like you.

What have you been doing in Desktop Support all these years? Touched servers or was it desktop stuff? 7 years is a looooong time to be in Desktop Support and I hope you gained valuable experience.
    NSX, NSX, more NSX..
