its been many years since my last cert exam, so i may have made the mistake of overstudying. but either way, passed and with a much better score than i expected. quite happy.
i didn't use much material other than the CBTNuggets. I had taken the Cisco ICND1 classes 4 or 5 years ago at the local community college, but I don't actively work in anything network related so 90% of it was forgotten. A refresher through the videos, some packet tracer, and maybe 4-5 hours scanning through the CCENT for Dummies book (yeah i know how it sounds, but the reviews for it were great).
The randomness of the question types was interesting. Expected way more sim type stuff and actual routing/addressing type stuff. Mine was quite heavy on WAN and Switching.
Now for a week or two off and then time to dive into ICND2!2013 goals (old)

@beach, i had some pretty terrible practice exams that came with the book, but other than that just self practiced building networks in packet tracker, subnetting questions, etx2013 goals (old)

Zartanasaurus Member Posts: 2,008 ■■■■■■■■■□Question for you and anyone else who has taken ICND1 lately. I'm currently have a student co-worker that I'm preparing for the ICND1. The blueprint is kind of generic and I want to make sure I'm covering all of the topics. What do you feel like the "core topics" are that are being tested on ICND1?Roguetadhg wrote: »Wait.. What?

Sim or lab a setup of 3+ routers. Name them, password them, address them, rip them. Practice
NAT terms, WAN terms.
That would be my study list after hitting broad overview of the entire track2013 goals (old)
