Do what you love MCSA/MCSE 2012 ?!?!?

I am an IT generalist and now work for a VOIP provider. My job recently changed and I am considering a transition. I have had some exposure to server 2003 & 2008 from a lite admin standpoint. Virtulization/storage/sharepoint are really the areas I am interested in. Since I have a year or so to get ready for the new job which of the two options would I best be served by.
A) Focus on 2012 certs and maybe pick up some supporting certs? If so what other certs would you add?
Grab 2008 certs since it is not going anywhere, upgrade to 2012 and see how many I can get in a year.
I have the following: Network+, Security+, CCENT (I will finish CCNA regardless of what I do), and MCDST. I also have a Master of Science in Information Assurance.
