Recommendations on finding a job that I can do from home?

I'm about to graduate college with my Bachelor's degree in IT in a few months, so I'll be looking for a job after I graduate. My past jobs were working at a restaurant and being a library assistant (I've done some IT related work for people now and then.)

I've worked a lot with MS server 2003/2008 when I was at my community college years ago but in more recent years I've shifted over to Linux, particularly Redhat/Centos (took two RHEL courses at my college) and Debian. I've learned Visual Basic years ago and have started reviving my programming skills this year with working with C++ (thanks to the Arduino.) I've also done some web design and configuration of Cisco equipment(routing, and VoIP.)

I'm looking for a job in which I can do 100% of work from home. Any suggestions on any decent employers that offer such positions would be helpful. If all else fails, I could try to look for a position at my local community college.

its not really going to help your IT skills, and it definitely doesnt do much for your resume... but if you need something 100% from home until you find a real IT position, look into supportspace. its nothing more than taking life draining calls and remote support for geeksquad customers, but its nice to be able to work from home.

and since its contracting/1099, you work as much or as little as you want. some days the calls might be terrible, but good days you can pull in anywhere from $300 - $500

nothing really other than US citizen. they have a very basic technical skills test that you can any 4 year old can pass in their sleep. As someone who has been contracted with them for years now and is extremely frustrated by the lack of screening/requirements for new techs.... trust me, as long as you have a pulse, you can work for supportspace

my friend does apple support from home, i envy it

but he only makes around 20 an hr, if your ok with making that much then go right ahead

I'm honestly not sure if you're going to be able to find anything 100% from home this time around. From what I've seen usually more senior positions allow working from home vs. entry level ones. Without relevant industry experience almost every company is going to want you on-site where you have support of peers and can be monitored a bit more than someone they know is well trusted within the industry.

It's usually hard enough finding entry level IT positions and when combining that with a 100% remote position your chances of finding anything go down by a lot. Best of luck though!

You could try Intel, but you usually need good refences and a bachelors in computer science My brother in law and sister both work from home about 90% of the time
