How to re-arrange my resume to suit a Help Desk position

I have what I would consider a pretty solid resume. However I created this with the intentions of getting a job in another field. If anyone could give me some advice on if I need to move stuff around or add-remove anything that would be very helpful.

Aside from the "Proficiencies", nothing really screams "I'm technical" from that resume.

I actually think the resume is first draft quality.

CodeBlox is right. Honestly, if they're not directly related to the job you're going for, trimming the experience sections a bit and writing a summary may benefit you. Make it clear that you're coming from another industry looking for an entry level position. You can increase your visibility and convince recruiters/HR managers that you're actually technical by getting your A+ or Network+. These are just my two cents; I've never had to make a transition like this so I don't speak from experience.

Your proficiencies are not really in any order...should be akin to OS's-->Languages-->Software-->Hardware
Are you legitimately proficient in SQL, C, and C++? If you are not and since that is the most "technical" item in your proficiencies list, I would rename the section to "Skills" or "Skillset".
I think a quick intro, profile, or objective section is needed first, then list your skillset.
As somewhat stated the experience listed doesn't really back up your objective (to get a job in IT). What ticketing system did you work with? What other technical buzz words can you throw in with your experience?
Also since your bachelors is in MIS you can list some relevant coursework to further support your technical aspirations. I might choose 2-4 highlight classes that you did in undergrad.

Don't list the programming languages at all unless you are an expert with them because, if you end up in a position requiring them and something goes wrong, you will be expected to know how to fix it. Probably shouldn't list iPad either. For your other three "Proficiencies" (fix that title, by the way) use some kind of rating like 'expert' or 'advanced'.

I'd also recommend piling on the certs. Start with A+ and then get a couple more.

Here's a few quick things I noticed.

1) Windows 98 is irrelevant. However, you do have the right idea. HR managers looks for IT keywords since they don't know what they actually are. I would actually put skills at the top, then work experience, then education.

2) The ***s look really bad.

3) Your resume is very subjective. The cover letter is probably where you should sell yourself, not the resume. Stuff like "Effectively troubleshot" and "Superior status awards" don't really belong. I don't think someone hiring you for the help desk cares your were an awesome cashier. I'd tie that into the cover letter. In fact, you may consider removing all your cashier details entirely and just leave the title.

as for #2, I just put those in there in place of my previous employers names. Not really on my resume
