I'm in a situation where I'm currently working for a company that I'm not too happy with (See this post for more details
http://www.techexams.net/forums/jobs-degrees/83023-thinking-about-switching-jobs-but.html )
As of now , I ve been with company 8 months and I am a helpdesk supervisor.
I currently got an offer to work for a Major ISP as a "Communication Tech" just a field tech that goes House to house installing/fixing Internet/cable issues, its a lot more interesting then helpdesk since I get hands on experience and not learn alot more regarding networking Which is what I plan on breaking into. Bad part is that pay is about 4 bucks less an hour. I'm not really in it for the money, im more in it for the experience. The job provides more benefits like free cable / int and Tuition reinbursment and the potential for raises if I complete certifications that they ask for. My current job does none of that and there is absolutely no room for improvement where I am at now and Im really not learning or improving on anything here because the software we use is specific for our company and isnt used anywhere at all besides here. My current job is about 24 miles from my home but new job would be about 2.2 miles. Saves me about $35/$40 in gas a week.
Another Pro to working here is that I have alot of free time at night. Being that I will be starting WGU March 1st, I will have alot more time to finish early and get studies over with, where as, if I were to get a new job, I would have to put more time aside for studies. But Im starting to hate being here due to egos and office politics and no room for improvement.
Not sure what to do here and the open window for the job is closing very soon. any input would be appreciated, Thank you all
