Broadcast forwarding help?

Hey everyone!
I have a router that needs to accept broadcasts from one network, and forward them out the other.
I have network 172.16.18.0/21 connected to gi0/1
I have network 144.212.20.0/24 connected to gi0/0
I need to forward the broadcasts from 172.16.18.0/21 to 144.212.20.0/24
Would this be accomplished with the IP directed broadcast command? Would I have to make an ACL to go along with it?
Any syntax help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
