About to take the exam

I am considering scheduling my exam for tomorrow. All I've used to prepare is Darril's book and the professor's online videos. I don't have the Net + certification, as reccomended, but I do feel comfortable with everything in Darril's book. I am also scoring well on the practice exams and I feel comfortable with the information listed in the sylabus. Since I don't have my Net +, is there anything else I should look at specifically before taking the Security + exam?

For example, I heard configuring ACLs on a router is part of the exam. If that's all cmd based, I have o experience, but if it's like my wireless routers page at home, that should be a piece of cake.

Network+ doesn't contain any command-line stuff for configuring routers. If you feel comfortable with everything listed in the objectives, I say go for it! Good luck!

I've heard a lot of people say that the two exams are almost interchangeable but with a respective focus. Based on your above post I'd say just check out the exam objectives on comptia's site and make sure you've got it down.

If you've followed the advice from your other posts, I'd say you're ready. The book you have has the objectives starting on page 8 along with the chapters where the topic is covered and they haven't changed since CompTIA released them, so you're good there. It's in the realm of possibility that you'll be expected to enter a command or two though that's not likely. You should understand ACLs but configuring them at the command line level is way beyond the scope of the exam.
