Pron industry and sites are thriving as a whole and despite their scandalous contents, probably have better sys admins and web dev. I can't generalize about IT web sites but it's safe to assume religious websites are run by non profit organizations whose budgets for e-commerce efforts can be quite limited. Everybody gets a chuckle out of reading about the obvious, but it'll remain this way for a long time.
