Regarding "show ip route" command and protocols.
If the table says (other than directly connected ones)
10.2.2.1 via 198.162.22.52
or
10.3.4.2 via serial 0/1
Does it mean, in order to get to 10.2.2.1, go through 192.162.22.52? OR
to get ot 10.3.4.2, go through serial 0/1?
Thanks.

On the second one it will be that way if you do a static route with just an exit interface and not next hop.
Either way the router is showing where it will forward traffic for this destination. An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made. -

The second one, with just what you provided, may be a directly connected network but thats the interface to reach it. -
