I got a offer to set up printers and i need advice,
Heres the description
Task Description: Scope of Work
1- FE to configure the Network printer as per the config provided by EY for the Identified Printer. FE should go to the Printer Settings and configure this.
2- FE to print out the Printer Setting , as a deliverables from his / her side
3- Technical Team (based in BEY ) will technically support the FE, and once the above is done, then to put him in conference call with EY IT Help desk to remotely test the Printer. This team along with EY It Help desk will be working 24x 5 , shift basis as just to cover those countries.
4- Once the above test is successful, then the FE should label the printer (either handwritten, or if he/she has any labelling machine in the Workshops then this is fine ). LNIATA will be provided.
5- FE to provide finally the sign-off sheet, which to be signed by local EY Manager & FE showing :
- Printer Location, Type, IP address, subnet mask , this can be printed on site as all EY sites have scanner machines.
Do you think i will be using windows serer 2008, or an operating system like windows xp/7 ? most likely a print server on server 2008 since it is a business. I dont really want to have to go to each computer to add printer... But it did say it should be 3 hour long, and since there hiring me to set up printer i'm guessing they don't have to good of system admin, so i doubt im going to be making a new group policy and adding it into aq certain group so my question is will i just be giving them the info on how to add printer and they will be doing there selves? sorry if im not making sense
