I just enrolled in the new v2 Student beginners course from eLearn Security. It is a self-paced course, with videos, slides, and 30hrs of labs. I will write a full review when done. Starting with my background and current experience in IT and ending with experience/satisfaction of the course. Remember this is advertised as a solid beginners course.

  • 900+ interactive elearning slides
  • Learn Python for Pentesters
  • 3 hours of video training
  • Preliminary skills section
  • Penetration testing section
  • Learn how to use pentester tools
  • Real exploitation with HERA Lab
  • Attack real networks
  • Attacks real web applications
  • Self-assessment quizzes
  • Practical sessions
  • Learn Backtrack & Metasploit

For $350 I think the topics in the syllabus are worth it. Check it out.

I'm interested in hearing about it as well. I've been wanting to switch careers for a career in support to pentesting and need some help getting started.

...I really do want to do this course, however I have to finish out my MS:ISA. Really interested in seeing what your write up is on this and if it's worth the money. Been looking at the pro course just for the added cert out of it.
    WGU BS:IT Completed June 30th 2012.
    WGU MS:ISA Completed October 30th 2013.

    You'll learn some cool stuff.

When I took the professional course, some of the videos had Italian in them. I hope it's not the same for the student course.

    Good luck!
    Booya!!
