Todd's says subnet-zero isn't valid on the exam since i have an older book (4th Ed)i'm not sure if this is still true. If it is then there shouldn't be any VLSM questions on the exam right?

As far as I know 'ip subnet-zero' is still _not_ valid in CCNA exams.

That however does _not_ mean that there will be no VLSM questions. In fact, there will be many !

The only netmasks that are unavailable are /9, /17 and /25.

Cisco covers subnet zero in most of the study materials I have read. I wouldnt be surprised if you saw it in application on the test. However, they will specifically say "with subnet-zero eneabled" if it is applicable.

i just went out and brought the CCNA Self-study Certification library cost me $59.99. I'm just about prepared to take the exam probably next month so I' m going to look over these 2 books and try to organize my thoughts with what i've learned over the past 9 months. Thanks for your input.

IP Subnet-Zero is used practically on the CCNA test but you will use it in the field and the CCNP test. Dont forsake it... just understand what it is.

And good job on the books... good price.
