What is the best way to prepare?

I've started preparing for the CCNA exam by reading wendell odom's books, im thinking about taking the two exam route... my question is, what other methonds do i need to do... is buying boson netsim necessary?

also, whats the diff between the self-study by steve mcquerry and the books by odom? do i need to read both? is the exam really dat hard too?

It is highly recommended to set up a home lab so that you can familarize with the command line interface and the IOS commands. Router simulator is an alternative to a home lab.
