I did 1 month of CBT Nuggets at $99 and I am thinking of switching to TrainSignal as they have most of the courses I'm looking for while also being half the price. I am interested if the practice exams that are included are any good.

I did a quick look at the practice exam for 70-640 and it looks just like the Transcender exam that I got when I bought the course. At least the first few questions were word for word.

Yeah, I did CBT for a month, and now looking to switch to either H2N for $29.97/mo. or Trainsignal for $49/mo. Saves me TON of money that way. Has anyone used H2N for CCNA? It seems like taboo to mention them on this forum. I apologize in advance if so.

If you're going to be doing the CCNA, I would be using this. 1. Because it's free 2. Because its INE.

How To Network.net - I haven't used their stuff and it gets blocked by the TE filters so that's not good. I think there are quite a few Jeremy Cioara fans here which is why CBT nuggets gets a shout so often.. not sure what the Train Signal videos are like for CCNA. I might have a look after I check out the VMware series.

I have watched the VMware vSphere 5 series by Elias Khnaser and D Davis and I dont think they go deep enough. Everything they tell you can easily be learned from the Scott Lowe book. In fact the book does a much better job than the video training. Quite a few times, they'd start to go into a topic and then pull out and finish the video. Lacking, if you ask me, and not worth your money.

I've heard better things about the VCAP training done by D Davis, I'll try and get my employer to pay for it.

I think James Conrad does a good job of the Microsoft training in CBT Nuggets. I agree that sometimes his humor can be corny and his quotes can be unnecessary, but hey, he injects some life into the training. Atleast he doesnt go on like a drone. If you want training that goes on like an ultra-boring history lecture, check out the Self-test training for Exchange. The guy will put you to sleep in minutes. The dude doesnt seem to breathe or blink or have any expression on his face.

Yea, the fact that TE blocks them is one reason that made me uneasy about using them. I already use the free INE videos, so maybe TS is my best bet, unless some folks on here has had a good experience with how to network that would like to comment.

I'm sure you already have, but if you haven't...look at the VCAP breakdowns and listened to the vBrownbags? When I finally get around to studying for it, I'm hoping those plus tons of labbing will be enough to get past it.

I have listened to the vBrownbags, great stuff and free! What can be better?! The guys take a bit to get started and that can be a bit annoying but you can always drag the slider to the right. But all good stuff and a must-watch for the VCAP exams. My date with the DCA is nearing and I have been listening to the brownbags regularly to drum it all in.

EDIT: Yep, got all those links and many more. I'll post all of them after I've taken the DCA.

I was trying to figure out what H2N was, and then why it sounded familiar, I'm reading CCNA Simplified, which is written by the guy who runs the site I believe. I'd be interested in hearing why the site is blacklisted, book has decent reviews, the author is pretty adamant about countering arguments against the book however.

I like Trainsignal. I used them for my CCNA Security and I believe Security+ as well.

I think this model is perfect for both sides. The user (you and me), if we actually utilize the training to its fullest potential, then $49/month is a great deal.

From their perspective $49/month is just enough for someone to order it without any solid plans for certs. They sign up and 3 months later "i better get going on some certs".... already -$150

. It's like a gym membership, everyone has one, 10% use it but no one wants to stop paying. Good thinking from their marketing team!

They go deeper than CBT nugget. I didn't think Trainsignal was too bad. It was a good supplimentary resource to prep for VCP.

I don't think its Chris Bryant anymore which is who it was when I used it. So its been updated within the last 4 years. But the CCNA hasn't really changed since then has it?
