Is modem and FDD drivers are loaded during safe mode or not?

Drakonblayde Member Posts: 542Well, I will say that accessing your ISP from safe mode won't work, as the network drivers aren't loaded. But as for whether or not the COM ports are useable under safe mode, install HyperTerm, boot to safe mode, set HyperTerm to talk directly to the COM port and start issuing AT commands. That'll tell you right away whether the COM routines are loading.
As to whether or not the Floppy drive is accessible, that's as simple as booting into safe mode and opening up My Computer. If the floppy drive is listed, then the routines are loaded.= Marcus Drakonblayde
