From my memory, the VPN model is onboard the router motherboard.
I'm not sure if the 1 Hwic is compatible with the 2811, perhaps you need to activate it?
I'm just guessing here
Here's what i see in mine after firing it up to check
2 FastEthernet interfaces
2 Serial(sync/async) interfaces

but why do i get 32 lines when I do a sho ver?
if I conf t)
then int asy0/0/0 ~ 0/0/15 I can get in.
if I try
int asy1/0/0 ~15 + ^error at marker,
same if
int asy0/1/0 ~ 15
I just discover i can get into :
int asy1/7
so my hwic must be showing up but not the NM-16? -
