why does it use 3 different ones, what are the advantages, do i even need to know the answers to these questions for the Net+?

Explains the differences between the three connectors. It pretty much depends on what kind of connector your devices require.
And yeah, you may be asked what kind of connections a particular medium can use, or you may be asked to identify a connector type based on a picture, so it's helpful to be able to identify them.= Marcus Drakonblayde
