70-646 Resources

I am starting my studies for the 70-646. I completed 640 and 642. For both exams (and the 70-680) I used Don Poultons Cert Guide books, MS Press books, CBT nuggets, Testout Labsim, Transcender, Boson, and Measure up. I will continue to use these products to prep for the 646. My only problem is that I can't find a good book to buy. I hate the Ms press books as they're very dry and boring. I have had great luck with the cert guide books but they do not make a 646 book. I was considdering the Darril Gibson book, as I used his book for Security + and loved it. However, it is from 2008 and does not have the R2 updates.
Can anyone recommend a good book to use? Thanks in advance!

Commguy23 Member Posts: 55 ■■■□□□□□□□I do use technet, the certguide books reference technet articles almost every other page. It's hard / impossible for me to rely only on technet because there is no order. A book has chapters, a beginning and an end.

This helped build a foundation on the topic, then I'd read the corresponding topic on TechNet and build my lab as I went through the TechNet article. I'd supplement with the Mastering/Unleashed books as needed. This method has served me for almost all of the 11 MS tests I have taken.

Not much mention is made of this exam, but it's pretty tough. It expects you to have a wide berth of knowledge on Server 2008 and it's one of those tests with Testlets. Whereas the 640 is a very focused exam, this one is a mile wide and an inch deep. Don't underestimate it & good luck. -

So it;s like a case study, on which you would be asked multiple questions?
Didn't come across any in the Transcender practice exam I took -
