I had heard about this book through a blog post and it just so happens that it is free to borrow for Amazon Prime Members so I put it on my Kindle. This book is amazing! It's funny because we're literally in the middle of a project right now that falls along the same lines as the one in this book. I'm sure people on the train thought I was nuts as I would become flush with anger as I read some parts (having been in those shoes). The biggest question is how to go about implementing something like this where you work? I highly suggest everyone read this, it was not only enjoyable, but informative.

onesaint Member Posts: 801Sweet, I didn't realize the Phoenix project was available on amazon for lending. I've read a few things fron Gene Kim, he's pretty entertaining and very devops focused.
On that note, this is a good video on devops:

Next up: eventually the RHCE and to start blogging again.

wes allen Member Posts: 540 ■■■■■□□□□□Just a quick bump - the free download ends at midnight tonight.
I downloaded and read it the other night, pretty good read, though maybe a little bit overly kumbaya-ish in parts. I wouldn't neccesarly call it a good novel, but it is a pretty good tech book, disguised as a novel. Probably much more interesting to someone in DevOps or more enterprise sized jobs. -
chrisone Member Posts: 2,278 ■■■■■■■■■□Thanks for the heads up. The novel looks interesting, however its pretty expensive for a novel, $30. I will put it in my wish list and come back to it sometime in the future when its much lower in price.Certs: CISSP, EnCE, OSCP, CRTP, eCTHPv2, eCPPT, eCIR, LFCS, CEH, SPLK-1002, SC-200, SC-300, AZ-900, AZ-500, VHL:Advanced+
