CISSP Endorsement Question
CISPhD
Hello again TE,
A quick question on everyone's feelings about how long you should know your endorser? Having just started a new job 2 months ago, I've known several CISSPs for that time frame, but previous roles were highly lacking in available personnel. Does ISC have an official policy on how long you should know your endorser?

Not at all.
I happened to know my endorser for quite some time, but remember that if you can't find an endorser ISC2 will endorse your certification.

I believe that the (ISC)2 requests that the endorser is personally familiar with the span of work history that s/he is endorsing. So if your endorser is validating four years of your professional work experience, the assumption is that you have known your endorser for at least four years.
Now, in many cases that is not possible. I've endorsed people having only met with them in a job interview-like situation. After talking with them (and performing other due diligence), I was certain they did meet the cert's experience criteria.
