Straight to CCNA or CCENT first?

For someone who already has passed Network+, would you recommend they still go the CCENT -> CCNA route or can they just go straight CCNA after Network+?

I just passed N+ and I'm going for CCENT. Only because its 2 exams to get CCNA rather than one though. I think anyone on here will tell you to go for the 2 exam route rather than the composite exam.

I'd go the one exam route. Get it over with and get your CCNA.

Depends entirely on how good you feel you are at holding massive amounts of information in your head. Or how much experience you have setting up switching and internetwork communications using Cisco products. I'm going for the composite because I know I'm good at the former thing.

If you already work in the networking field I'd go the one test route. If you are trying to get into the field I would take the two test route. Goodluck on whichever you decide!

In my opinion, go with 2 exam route.
In revised CISCO certification path, CCENT is pre-req for most other basic exams.

Did you forgot about the recent changes that CISCO made, mate?
CCENT as pre-req for most other paths.. :)

That won't be effective until October 1st. Get it done quickly while it's possible imho.

CCENT or CCNA count as a pre-req.

CCENT or CCNA R&S count as a pre-requisite for other paths. If you already have a CCNA, there's no particular benefit to also having the lesser-known CCENT. I'd personally recommend the two-exam route if the CCNA is something you plan to spend two or more months studying for, so you have a nice goal/milestone in the middle. For me, it's never been.
