Different CSCO Numbers.

ajmatsonajmatson Member Posts: 289
So I always used the same Pearson account for my exams. Today after passing the CCNA Security I noticed the CSCO number is not the same for my other certs. I sent a request to Cisco to have them merged or changed but has anyone had this happen. Did it delay your certs bad? or am I being over anxious right now :)

Thanks.

I've never heard of that happening with Cisco, but I had it happen to me with my CompTIA certs.

Just curious, so you took the CCENT, skipped the CCNA and went straight for the CCNA:Security? I thought it was possible with the old CCENT, but wasn't sure it was grandfathered.

I wasn't sure either but looks like its Grandfathered. I posted the same question to Todd Lammle on his blog (Understanding Cisco’s new Certification Path | Lammle.com). I believe you are grandfathered, at least I hope so :)

I will find out soon I guess. Either way I am taking the ICND2 in a month or so but my work was pushing us to take this test and pass it so I did :)

I did a little looking and on the Cisco site they now list CCENT as a pre-req which was not there before (CCNA Security Certification - IT Certifications and Career Paths - Cisco Systems) Also in the Exam Logic if you look at the CCNA Security it shows if you click ICND1 v1.1 and then the IINS (640-554) it shows the Cisco CCNA Security as "Achieved" :) I believe that means we will be grandfathered.

May the problem is due to the presence of older CCENT.
Please keep us posted about the reply from CISCO.

So just wanted to give a quick update. I can confirm that the CCENT V1.1 and then the CCNA Security 640-554 will in fact give you the CCNA Security :) After having my CSCO numbers merged they sent me the email to confirm my address and the kit is pending shipping.

Cool! That's good to know for those that aren't interested in the Routing and Switching.

Agreed, I am in the security field now so it was more beneficial to skip the R&S for now. ;). I may go back to it later after I kill the CCNP Sec and the Juniper Security certs.
