Hi guys,
I bought a cisco 877 from ebay but it wont save my config...
When I type copy running-config startup-config and it saves gives me the confirmation that is saved
Router#copy running-config startup-config
Destination filename [startup-config]?
Building configuration...
[OK]
Router#
But when I turn my router back on the config is not there and asks me to enter initial config
Any Ideas?
Im about to give the 1700 I bought from ebay a crack and I hope that works
Cheers
Craig

This. If you have either the Odom or Lammle books, it is explained very well in both and will make for good (and necessary) studying for the exams.
edit - probably any CCENT/CCNA book for that matter haha -

So far I have only been watching CBT nuggets. There has been no mention of the config register as yet. Still waiting for my Odom books to arrive in the post.
It was set to 0x2142... fixed it up to default 2102 now.
Thanks again
