It does not cover any CUCM config , presence etc. at all. In fact its pretty much a 'beginners guide to CCME and Unity Express'.
Yet the exam has tons of basic CUCM admin questions.
Not a big deal for me personally but anybody going into CCNA Voice relying primarily on this book is in for a WORLD of hurt

DexterPark Member Posts: 121hmm... Good point. I never really noticed because I work out of CUCM everyday. My advice to anyone looking to advance their career would be to learn DevOps tools and methodologies. Learn how to write code in languages like Python and JavaScript. Not to be a programmer, but a network automation specialist who can do the job of 10 engineers in 1/3 of the time. Create a GitHub account, download PyCharm, play with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. Automation isn't the future, it's here today and the landscape is changing dramatically.

aaron0011 Member Posts: 330The book was enough for me to pass with an excellent score but I agree with you. I work with CUCM daily so it didn't hinder me but for those without experience a single CUCM server and a few phones is what you need for a lab. Forget the CME and gateway routers for ICOMM. Save that for CVOICE.

Same here. Working with CUCM everyday makes a big difference. One of my weakness is CUPS. I don't use it at work and that was my weakest area."Love your Job, but never fall in love with your company....because you never know when your company stops loving you!" -

Timber Wolf Member Posts: 90 ■■□□□□□□□□It sounds like you have the old cert guide for 640-460 which only covered basic VOIP, CME, and CUE. The new cert guide for 640-461 only touches on CME and CUE and also includes configuring CUCM, CUC, and CUPS.WGU BS IT - Security

skwira001 Member Posts: 94 ■■■□□□□□□□This is the reason I gave the book a low rating. The book does a horrible job on CUCM.
