Is Comptia HIT -001 worth it?
Rivka
I do not even see a thread for it in any of the Comptia forums...
Is this information that I could be getting elsewhere?

Have you ever seen it in job requirements?
Rivka
I do not know what you mean --
No, I have never seen it listed as a req - but I do not know if the skills are worth getting to generalize in the healthcare world in general....
Can this help with a job in Healthcare?

No. It's not endorsed by the Health Industry. It's also a rehash of A+, Sec+, Net+ with a dash of Health Industry terminology, Regulations and Laws.
The idea is good but the execution is poorly. At least, Linux+ is tied to LPIC 1, the DoD 8570 and industry acceptance of A+, Net+ and Sec+ but this certification has no value.
No one is asking for it. Their are jobs asking for PMP though...

I have it. I am glad work payed for it and I didn't on my own. As spiderjericho said it is a mix of a+, sec+, and net+ with healthcare mixed in. I would probably only suggest it if you were entry level healthcare IT. I think you could just look up HIPAA and Meaningful Use and learn just as much. Just my 2 cents.
