Question on actual certification (70-640)

Hey all. I am getting ready to sit for my very first Microsoft exam. The 70-640! I am currently a Sys Admin for the last three years so I do a lot of this stuff on a day to day basis. My question is about the actual cert. Since Microsoft changed from the MCITP back to MCSA and MCSE my question lies about the MCTS. Before when you passed each of the three exams to become a MCITP or now MCSA. You would get an MCTS cert. Are they still doing that? Or did they go back to giving you an MCP for passing your first Microsoft cert? I am really confused on this and have looked at their website and cant find a straight answer. Would really like to hear from someone that took this exam recently and know if they are still giving out the MCTS certs or what. Not trying to sound childish but really want to know that when I go and pass the 640 in two weeks that I will be giving some type of cert whether its the MCTS or the older MCP they gave out after your first pass with Microsoft.

PS: And yes I plan on getting the MCSA and I know you get a cert for that really just wondering about this single exam and the changes that have recently been applied.

Currently you get a MCTS Cert for passing the 640.

Thank you do you or anyone know when they will stop doing that? I know they are retiring the MCITPA AND E on July 31st of this year. Just want to make sure I don't wait too long that's all.

They are only retiring the moniker not the actual certs. I believe after July it will go from being the MCITP:SA to just MCSA:2008. Also if my memory serves me right the MCTS will be switched to the MCP. Nothing has really changed in terms of what you get after each pass other than the moniker that goes with the cert. These exams will still be around for awhile and you will still get the individual certs for the non pro exams.

Ok Thank you so much @kriscamaro68! I wanted to make sure thats all. Also I have the voucher for the second shot deal they have going on where if you fail the first time you get the second attempt free. Although you have to have both taken by May 31st. Still unsure if I am fully ready not sure if I should just go for it before that date.
