I am trying to get an entry level Network support job or in a noc. I couldn't attach it as a Word.doc so the layout will be different

Quantify and Qualify your work experience. How many guests did you process in a month or per day at peak season? Have you gotten any written kudos from your boss? Is there any way you saved your company money?

The point will be to show that you are an asset to your current job and can be an asset to a future employer. Write a cover letter that is specific to the job your are applying for. This is more of a method to set yourself apart from the rest of the applicants and forces the HR person to look closer at your resume. Also, try to find keywords in the specific posting and see if you can tailor your resume to include those words.

Last, and this may sound shady but if you know how to do it, hide any keywords you think might help in the metadata of your resume. This will force your resume to pop-up in a database search.

To add to you resume: I suggest volunteering your IT knowledge to a charity, or your local PBS station. This will add job-related experience to help your case.

Some of my passing thoughts:

Firstly layout is hugely important.

I like to see education in the second section (first being personal details).

Sort your commas out.

Complete your CCNA

Make passing reference to GCSEs A-C score including maths and English. Do you have A levels?

I don't like the 'Mar' in the work experience bit.

I dislike the career objectives bit, including the lack of To at the start. Actually I don't get a feel about you at all due to lack of sentences.

1. Get your A+ certification

2. Lose the objective statement. Objective statements are no longer used on resumes.

3. Get rid of the phrase "Familiar with Cisco switches and routers." You mention that you understand the protocols, so this phrase is not necessary. You can say that you have experience with them, but only if you actually do.

4. Don't ever say you have a basic knowledge of anything. Either you've used your knowledge to configure VPNs and firewalls and have experience, or just leave it off.

5. Think about how your work experience relates to your goal. Did you use a filing system? Did you use a database? You might not need to mention that you ensured a high level of customer service because that is not related to your goal, unless you created software to help you do it.

6. Insert the dates on which you earned those certifications. It will just add professionality to your resume.

Great advices from all of you guys I will make sure I do a lot of changes , it's the first CV I write I didn't start applying yet I thought I wait till I get CCNA but I may get an entry level job before ....thank you
